Jeff began training Jiu Jitsu in 2010 after a 2 year hiatus from the MMA scene where he was the amateur Ark-LA-Tex Ring Rulers Featherweight champion. During his MMA run Jeff trained a little no gi jiu jitsu but never in a serious manner. After his break he wanted to get back on the mats and started to train both in the gi and in no gi full time. He has been training under Relson Gracie Academy since day 1. Jeff travels to many of the Relson academies across TX and the nation, in order to improve his game and technique. After alot of hard work and dedication, Jeff received his brown belt from Relson after only 3 years of training. He competes multiple times a month on both the local and and national levels in the bjj community. He now teaches at Relson Gracie Tyler and Longview. Jeff encourages his students to compete as often as possible in order to test there skills. His number one priority, as with most Relson Gracie instructors, is the self defense program. Jeff still plans on competing more and working on his self defense in order to receive his black belt in the future.
